THE NL3ASD MODIFICATION FILES - HAM RADIO MODIFICATIONS - PAGES L TO SHOMEPAGE

From:Keith Beidelman
Subject:PRO-2032 Scanner Modifications

I had been looking for a cellular restoration modification for the
PRO-2032.  I
finaly gave up looking and ordered a service manual for the radio.  It turns
out that
this radio is a next generation design of the PRO-2006.  It still uses
option selection
diodes which are scanned as an extention to the keyboard matrix.  The diodes
for the
option selection are surface mounted in a soldered in shield on the bottom
side of the
circuit board.  By examining the artwork for the circuit board which was
given in the
service manual along with the schematic, it was determined that the scanner
can be
modified as follows:

  1) Cut the lead on the anode of D35
  2) cut jumper JM69 in half
  3) solder a wire between the anode of D35 and the side of the jumper
closest to
     the label for JM69.

If you have a FAX available, I can send you some documentation which will
make this
procedure clearer.

I have implemented this modification on my PRO-2032.
